On behalf of Sydney Branch we wish all of our Sydney Competitors the best for the upcoming State Age, Masters and Open Championships and to those travelling to Qld for the Australian Championships in March 2010.

Life Membership of Surf Life Saving Sydney Branch was awarded to Ian Goode of the Cronulla SLSC at the Branches AGM in 2009.  Ian was presented with the Sydney Branch Life Membership badge at the recent Sydney Branch Open Championships Carnival held on Sat 13th February.  Congratulations to Ian on this magnificant achievement.

SYDNEY TAKES OUT TOP PLACING AT THE INTERBRANCH CHAMPIONSHIPS CARNIVAL.

A top result for the  2009 Sydney Interbranch team. It has been a few years coming but due to the hard work of the athletes and the management team, Sydney has regained the crown by placing 1st at the recent SLSNSW Interbranch Championships Surf Carnival held last weekend at Cape Hawke.

Early preparation back in August 2009 with the continuation of SLS EAP program has created a sound platform from which the Sydney Team is developed. The united approach has generated enthusiasm  amongst  the membership within Sydney Branch, indicated through  the programs high participation levels this year. The program has also provided an arena that has fostered the growth of surf sports in Sydney  Branch  as a whole.  Mike Vitnell DBOSS and Tim Murray, introduced the program 3 years ago ,and although extremely pleased with it’s progress and all avenues it provides to the branches membership, it is still in it’s early days .

The Management team would like to express it’s thanks to the chaperones , coaches and parents for their efforts and time, the athletes for their sportsmanship and dedication and to the BOM for supporting the BOSS in such a successful season to date.
